The Lotus Elite
Colin Chapman's
Racing Car for the Road
|
Introduced in 1957, and produced from 1958 through 1963, there were just over 1,000 Lotus Elites made. Power, light weight, aerodynamics and superb handling contributed to an impressive competition record, not the least of which were six impressive class wins at the LeMans 24 Hours in six years. The Elite's beautiful fluid styling continues to attract admirers even today, more than 40 years later.

Some 750 Elites survive today as concours quality GT cars, as very competitive vintage racers, as street driven personal Grand Touring cars, or under restoration as a favorite project. |
The Utah Lotus Museum features one
standard road-going Lotus Elite and two
Stage-3 competition Elites.
